{Roleplay Help}Are you....
Completely clueless about Roleplay?
THEN YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE! Enough Chit-Chat, let's start learning shall we? Section one is entitled:
What is Roleplay?Roleplay is just what it sounds like-- You play the role of a character. It can be any character, from Wolves and Warriors to Raccoons, Humans or Part Humans! Obviously we will be focusing on Warriors/Wolf Roleplaying, but most of what the tutorial goes over can be applied to any type of Roleplay.
Lingo of the RoleplayThere are some basic terms that are commonly used in Roleplaying that you should be familiar with.Rp -- Short for Roleplay. Also Rping means Roleplaying.
OOC -- When Rping you might want to ask another member something. If you go about it like this: BIC or IC -- Sometimes you might see someone but this after a OOC remark. It stands for Back in Character (Or In Character), and is just a little term to make sure that everyone understands they are back in the Rp. Godmodding -- Something you DO NOT want to do. Godmodding is making your character invincible, super strong, able to defeat all enemies, live forever etc... It really spoils the fun for everyone else. If everyone is invincible then where is the story line going to go? And after a few months is it really that fun to Rp a cat that always gets their way? No! Good characters have some FLAWS, that is what gives them CHARACTER. Although it may be tempting, make sure you don't Godmod. Powerplayer or Pper -- Someone who plays another persons character without their permission. Again-- something you DO NOT want to do.
Semi-Lit vs. Non-Lit and Literate -- The three ways to Roleplay. Non-lit would be like this: Bio-- Your character's overall description that usually goes somewhere on the Roleplay site. Hmm... this leads into our next section.... Writing the BioYour character's bio is something that should reflect the general points of your character: Physical description, personality, history/family, group (Clan/Pack), rank and gender. Here is the example bio we'll be talking about: {{COMING SOON!}} |
